Biography

Grant Martsolf, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, is a nursing health sciences researcher and public policy expert. He is a Professor in the School of Nursing, Department of Acute and Tertiary Care (profile).

Dr. Martsolf is one of the researchers on The Caregiver Project, concentrating on the portion of Aim 3 looking at the implementation of the CARE Act at hospitals across Pennsylvania. His work examines compliance and implementation of the Act, as reported by hospital administrators. His work also examines several national data sets and caregiving literature to identify changes in place to support caregivers of seriously ill patients (Schulz R, J Palliat Med 2018), as well as adverse consequences of unmet needs for high cost/high need patients (Beach S, J Gerontol B Psychol Sci Soc Sci, 2018). In addition, he is looking at the barriers and challenges to monetizing the value of caregivers.
