Biography

Howard B. Degenholtz, PhD, is Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management and Associate Director of Research, Center for Bioethics and Health Law.

Dr. Degenholtz is a health services researcher and gerontologist. He is presently leading a multi-year evaluation of Pennsylvania’s Community HealthChoices Program, which includes data on patient-caregiver experiences for dually eligible enrollees in Pennsylvania. As part of this project he is examining the effect of the transition to Medicaid Managed Care on caregivers for people with physical disabilities and Alzheimer Disease and related dementias.

The study was conducted by the University Center for Social & Urban Research (UCSUR) and Health Policy Institute (HPI) at the University of Pittsburgh in partnership with various local organizations.

Dr. Rosland is an Associate Professor in the Division of Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine in the Pitt School of Medicine and a Core Investigator with the VA Pittsburgh Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion.
