A new agreement between the US Department of veterans Affairs and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services will allow the VA to monitor medical prescriptions issued through Medicare Part D. This agreement is a huge leap forward in patient safety, as VA providers will now have more oversight and more accurate information about patient medications. This agreement was informed by work published by CP3 and VA Pittsburgh Center for Health Equity and Promotion researchers and published in Annals of Internal Medicine.
