Biography

Melony Sorbero is a policy researcher at the RAND Corporation. A health services researcher with a background in public policy analysis and public health, Dr. Sorbero uses both quantitative and qualitative research methods to examine the quality of care and economic effects of variations in medical care. Her recent projects have focused on quality of life after treatment for breast cancer, socioeconomic and racial differences in breast cancer treatment, and physician and hospital pay for performance. She is also the co-director of the RAND–University of Pittsburgh Health Institute. She received a doctorate in health services research and policy and a master of public health degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
