Barbara Folb, MM, MLS, MPH

Biography

Barbara Folb is the Public Health Informationist at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System (HSLS). She received her MLS from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994, and her MPH in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences with an added certificate in Program Evaluation in 2010, also from Pitt. In 2008 and 2009 she was a NLM Public Health Informationist Fellow, studying information seeking practices of disaster first responders. She is an instructor for the HSLS Systematic Review Workshop for librarians, which annually trains about 75 librarians from the USA and Canada on systematic review methods. Prior to joining HSLS she served as a librarian at Carnegie Mellon University, and at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Corporate Library.
