Description: A two-year postdoctoral position is available in the Stern Center for Evidence-Based Policy, housed in the University of Pittsburgh Health Policy Institute. The position will involve leading and contributing to research projects related to the translation of health-services research and biomedical and into evidence-based policy recommendations to health policymakers at the national, state, and local levels. The Stern Center partners with foundations, philanthropists, governmental bodies and stakeholder organizations to study the most important challenges facing our health system. We bring together experts from across the health and social sciences to collaborate on applied policy research projects. Subject matter experts are supported by a team of health economists, biostatisticians, information scientists, and regulatory experts who provide the methodological and technical infrastructure to carry out the Center’s work.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD in public health, health policy, public policy, political science, economics, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in health policy research, including peer-reviewed publications, and the ability to identify emerging opportunities for leveraging research to inform public policy. Candidates with experience in research or policies related to the health of aging populations are especially encouraged to apply.
